CAMP DAYBREAK

Since 1962, VAMH has directed and adminstered Camp Daybreak, Vermont's only summer residential project specifically designed to serve young Vermont children who are coping with serious mental health disorders.

FRIENDS OF RECOVERY - VERMONT

In 1998, VAMH was selected to be the host agency for Friends of Recovery - Vermont, an effort to build a statewide coalition of people in recovery from drug and alcohol addiction and its effects. Patty McCarthy is leading this project. We are now working to improve treatment, prevention and recovery services in Vermont as a key player in a broad coalition effort.

NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF MENTAL HEALTH OUTREACH PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM

One of the major goals of the Vermont Association for Mental Health is the promotion of accurate and timely public education information. As a statewide association on one of the nation’s most rural states, it is however a challenge to have access to a regular flow of research studies, policy directives and relevant scientific information. When the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) introduced a new initiative called the Outreach Partnership Program, the Association applied for selection as Vermont’s representative to this national education initiative. We were both pleased and proud to be selected in the first round of candidates quite a few years ago. You can link directly to the Outreach Partnership Program’s website at http://www.nimh.nih.gov/outreach/partners.
